Phillip: I am very glad I found this place. The instruction is excellent. Yiyo is always willing to explain the techniques multiple times in Spanish and/or English if needed. The instructors make a conscientious effort to check everybody’s technique, even if there are a lot of people in a class. It seems like they want you to improve just as much as you do. Also, sometimes when dropping in a gym, it could feel awkward not knowing anyone, but I felt comfortable at this gym pretty quickly. A nice vibe. Definitely go there and try a few classes if you want some really good training.

The facilities are great and clean, the teaching is detailed and technical (in both Spanish and English) and combines a good balance between foundational and modern brazilian jiu jitsu. Rolls are also technical. Overall great gym, great instructor and great culture. Highly recommend!
Alex Cyrus: I attended my first BJJ class here. Not only was my experience great, but now I want to continue learning this tactical martial art. Classes are taught in both Spanish and English, which makes this school an excellent option for foreigners visiting or living in Medellin. If I ever happen to be in Medellin again, I will gladly return to Cobrinha!

michael Seaman: I messaged Alessandro the ower or checkmat in Medellin for privates. He was professional, and super chill. The cost was very reasonable, but his teaching methods were outstanding. I have received about a total of 4 private lessons from other instructors in San Diego, and Alessandro’s was by far the best. I did a drop in at his academy, and it was a great class. Lots of traditional warm ups, that my gym normally doesn’t do but is necessary. His students were beasts, and his brown belt that was teaching he taught some clean techniques. I would like to visit Medellin again very soon. Stopping by his school was a highlight of my trip. Thank you! -Michael
Jake Runnels: I have trained at almost every academy in Medellin so far and I am a really big fan of the head instructor at this gym. The instructor has a very deep knowledge and the technique he demonstrates is top notch. The people who train here are friendly and open. Highly recommend! (PLUS Acai Bowls!!)

Nice and clean gym with great infrastructure, you can borrow a Gi if you need and enjoy great Acai Bowls after training :-)
Anthony Treas: Professor Alessandro Nagaishi is a great instructor and has attracted great people to his academy. He is very welcoming and teaches techniques very well. His classes can be tough, but he is a BJJ Champion and knows what it takes to compete. He is still competing and winning today.
