La Playa estudio: what do users think?
Vincent de Wolf
Vincent de Wolf: Unreliable and very slow in communication. We spent a morning coming to the store, made an order of some ceramics, agreed to ship it to Cartagena and arrange the payment via PayPal (though we also offered to make the payment in cash the next day). After two weeks of radio silence, despite multiple messages from our side, we got a message saying that payment through PayPal was ‘confusing’ and that the order was not going to happen. So thank you for wasting our time. The ceramics they sell are nice however, so if you live nearby, can pay in cash and don’t need to ship, it is still recommended.

Valley Spanish School: what do users think?
Lise Stensrud
Lise Stensrud: I took spanish classes and salsa lessons here for two weeks and couldn’t be happier with my choice! I contacted them last minute three days before i arrived to Medellin and they managed to take me in without hesitation. The front desk answered all my questions and were very accommodating. I appreciated their flexibility when it comes to taking the classes when it fits you, day or time. I had 4 hours every day with a small group all at beginner level. I had different teachers but they were all nice and seemed well prepared every class. The location was amazing, in the main street of El poblado, and the building had a nice vibe with an open cafe and social activities as well. I would recommend the school and would have stayed longer if i could😅
Sigbjørn Hovda
Sigbjørn Hovda: I cannot recommend this Spanish language school highly enough. Great teachers, including Victoria which was our main teacher. I was attending a course on A2 level in a small group with 1–2 other students for 3 weeks (2 hours per day). I had very good progress and a fun time as well. The value for money is great too.
Courtney Golman
Courtney Golman: Valley Spanish School and my professor Miguel are amazing! First - the flexibility of 1:1 classes is unmatched. The coordinator texted me everyday to see my preference for scheduling classes the next day, and you can take as little as one hour at a time. I wouldn’t have been able to fit learning Spanish into my work schedule any other way, so thank you Valley! I hadn’t studied Spanish in over 5 years, and thanks to Miguel I was able to complete all of my classes fully in Spanish. I went from barely understanding and one word responses to conversational over the course of a month. I feel like my abilities accelerated rapidly because we focused on actually building my confidence and creativity instead of just memorizing conjugations or vocab. I can’t wait to continue learning online!
Kristen Green
Kristen Green: My 13&14-year-old daughters had a great experience taking four weeks of classes at Valley with Victoria. They were able to build on what they learned in middle school and get more comfortable speaking Spanish. I enjoyed working in the cafe while they studied Spanish, and our whole family took salsa classes together in the afternoon. Valley is awesome!
Sergen Y
Sergen Y: Really enjoyed the classes, not only was it well structured and challenged me to improve my spanish, the experience felt very natural. I feel ready to continue improving my spanish by talking to the locals, with the skills this school has provided me. (Daily classes for 2 weeks)
TMS MLN
TMS MLN: My experiences with valley school were all positive. I was introduced by a friend who took 3 weeks of Spanish classes (4h per day). He took me to their weekly ‘language exchange’ (Tuesdays and Thursdays), which I also recommend. I decided to sign up for 1 week of Spanish classes, 4 hours per day in a beginner group. The teacher Valery, besides doing her job well, is just cool and funny so that made the learning even easier. When I had a concern about the different levels in my group I addressed it with Juan (whom I believe is the owner). His response made clear that he cares about the quality of the service he provides. I was very impressed by how he handled things! 10/10 recommend
Kay Cee
Kay Cee: This is the best school in Medellin. I took in person class in July-August 2019 and then again online private tutoring from summer 2020 to now. I worked with the great Stephanie and several other excellent teachers. They are enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The prices are very affordable and it is a true school with a good community— and of course a great coffee shop. I highly recommend you take in person class if possible. I like how Stephanie helped with my pronunciation and now my Latin friends are impressed by my pronunciation. I would definitely take classes in person again if I can visit. Great experiences and memories there.
Response: Hello, Kay. Thanks for your beautiful testimonial. We are proud of our staff and we know they are the best! 🙌👏👏
Shane Autumn Nebbia
Shane Autumn Nebbia: This school is amazing and for all levels. It’s in the perfect location- close to all of the restaurants and bars. The entire staff is extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Laura is an amazing teacher and truly feel like I learned a lot. Federico, the owner, is extremely kind as well. 100000% recommend!

Medellin Modern Art Museum: what do users think?
Matt Fluegel-Carew
Matt Fluegel-Carew: This is a great modern art gallery. There’s a good mix of exhibits and media presented, with a lot of it grounded in Colombian politics, history, and cultures which helps contextualize the art. Particularly good for those who don’t usually enjoy modern art! All exhibits had English text as well. The indigenous art exhibition was one of the best. The theatre is also great, there’s a good variety of films showing. We saw one about snow leopards which we really enjoyed.
Response: Thank you, Matt!
Micky Riddell
Micky Riddell: 5 floors. Only 2.5 open. Not our taste. Maybe others will enjoy it. Even had to pay. The exhibition was in mainly Spanish with some English. Building was impressive. When all the building work around is finished then the views from the top floors will be impressive.
Josh Haslup
Josh Haslup: Came here on my first day in town, just a short jaunt up from Los Patios. A quite place with interesting exhibits and a nice rooftop view. Unfortunately, I came here while renovations were happening so only the 4th floor and rooftop were accessible, however because of this tickets were half price and definitely worth it. The museum shop out front has some really awesome stickers at the front counter too :)
Karina Kisselite
Karina Kisselite: The artwork and the building itself are quite unique and the rooftop terrace has good views. Some floors don’t have exhibitions, so the museum doesn’t take too long to cover. Some interesting perspectives represented. There is a souvenir shop, cafe and a theater as well.
Reginald Williams
Reginald Williams: We found the MMAM to be a moderately interesting venue, worth having visited once but not exciting enough to compel us to return unless we were to learn of a specific exhibit or artist whose work we wished to see. The building itself is moderately interesting but does not compare to our favorite museum buildings elsewhere in Latin America, nor in Asia.
Laura Rincon
Laura Rincon: Couldn’t enjoy all the experience, be aware the expositions dates. I only payed half the price of the entrance because they were changing exhibits, I could only see the permanent one. I would suggest giving the personnel a minimum course of the different acquisitions and even the showrooms locations, I asked a couple of easy questions and nobody gave me an answer, they were just aware of: “no touching”
Hannah Bobker
Hannah Bobker: Many interesting exhibits. We spent about an hour exploring all the displays. Nice terraza views on the fifth floor.

Jonah A
Jonah A: This school is fantastic! The teachers are fun, funny, patient, and very good at challenging you to learn more. After a couple of weeks at the school they felt like friends to me. Also this was a great place to meet other travellers with similar values and I made some good friends here and we were inspired to mainly speak Spanish together outside of school. I liked Elefun so much that I am returning for more lessons in a couple of months! If you want to learn Spanish efficiently in a fun environment, this is the school for you!
Response: Thank you so much for your review Jonah! We miss you, hasta pronto amigo
Alice L
Alice L: I spent 6 weeks studying at Elefun and it was great : the teachers are pedagogues, fun and super friendly. Each week they organize one or two social events (go watch a local soccer game at the stadium, pub crawl, Halloween party, cooking class…), the group classes are a great way to socialize and I was in a group that had the same Spanish level as m, so we could ask for what we wanted to learn and we improved super fast. I totally recommend the school and would go back if I return to Medellín, to improve even more. Muchas gracias ☀️

JOSE DAVID CANO
JOSE DAVID CANO: If you want to learn in the best way spanish this is the best school in all Medellin All the school has the best teaching classrooms with the best materials and the best teachers that will teach you the concepts of the language with awesome methods. Over here you will have very exclusive classes with not so many students so as this you can learn better as you have all the attention of the teacher. Štěpán Knetl
Štěpán Knetl: I did 2 weeks of group classes and then 3 more weeks of private ones. Over that time I managed to get from nothing to somewhat conversational level in Spanish, definitely able to get by with basic stuff and connect over simpler conversations. The school staff was always helpful and all the teachers professional. I also like that fact that they keep track of what you have gone through in previous classes so the teachers, even if you change them, are always prepared for your specific needs. I especially appreciated the classes of Duvan, Ricardo and Elizabeth. Definitely recommend the place.
Max Abbott
Max Abbott: I had an amazing two weeks learning Spanish at My Teacher in Medellin. Ricardo, Duvan and Andrea were all effective, friendly and welcoming instructors. Within those two weeks, I went from speaking almost no Spanish to holding basic conversations with ease. The school was also affordable, located in a great neighborhood and planned lots of fun activities like food tastings, salsa lessons and language exchanges with locals for additional practice.
Response: ¡Gracias! We're glad to be part of your Spanish learning :)

KroeseLisan: The Spanish school really lived up to my expectations, they were very nice and helpful and what I liked most was the flexibility. EUPHORIA Arts and Dance: what do users think?
Kia Orion
Kia Orion: This place is 5 stars for a reason. Hands down the best dance school I’ve ever been to. from the instruction, organization, price, vibe - it’s all on point 🙏 It’s a family run school and feels like it in the best way. You feel welcome from the minute you step in and are greeted by the two family dogs. I came with a little bachata experience but was a complete beginner at salsa. I left with a decent salsa level after a few months and significantly improved my bachata skills 😎 The teachers are super supportive (cute too!) and will meet you at whatever level you’re at. You can schedule classes through WhatsApp and buy classes by card online - their whole system is dialed in and makes it super easy. I could keep going but you should STOP READING REVIEWS AND JUST BOOK YOUR CLASS TRUST ME. Gracias Euforia por todo!
Veronica Lozano
Veronica Lozano: Came for dance classes…and now I’m leaving with memories and friends. I love dancing here because it feels like you’re just hanging out with friends. Chko and Domingo were my instructors. I had a blast learning from them. All the staff were super helpful and such a pleasure to be around. I always looked forward to coming and seeing everyone. I will be back to continue my dance journey with them. 💃🏼 (oh, and…they even let me work there so I could take a meeting and not be late for class, lol)
Amandeep Heer
Amandeep Heer: I never did salsa dancing before. This dancing studio is the best. I am very grateful to learn salsa dancing with Catalina. Catalina speaks English really well. She has attention to detail. She was extremely patient with me. She makes sure you understand the basics well.
Neha Kumari
Neha Kumari: Great place to pick up some salsa moves. My teacher Luis did an excellent job of leading a beginner like me who has no dance background. This is a really special place. Everyone is kind and welcoming. It was seamless to set up impromptu private lessons.
Flávia Ramos
Flávia Ramos: Euforia is an amazing dance school. Everybody is so welcoming and a pleasure to be around. I had never danced before, but Luiz and Catalina have been helping me so much to overcome my fear of dancing. They are incredible professionals, they are so kind, patient and they help me feel confortable and have fun through the process.
Samantha
Samantha: My first private dance lesson, so I was a little nervous but they made it very easy to book and Luis was very comfortable to learn with and played very good music!
T N

C. Wisniowski
C. Wisniowski: FANTASTIC dance school for all levels of dancers! I was blown away by the professionalism of the teachers at Euphoria Escuela. I took private classes in bachata (with Cata) and kizomba (with Jose) over a six-week period and I wish I had time to do more. This is hands down the best dance school I ever attended. I highly recommend the private classes as they really helped me improve in countless aspects. I would recommend this school to everyone – it was definitely a highlight of my time spent in Medellin. Unforgettable! The prices for classes are super affordable and TRUST me they are worth every penny. The school is also a wonderful place to build community, as the teachers are all super friendly and will often share information about dance events and things going on in the city. Thank you for everything! 💗💗💗💗
