Sumo Ramen: what do users think?

Michelle Nguyen: The spicy miso ramen was good and tastes homemade. It was spicy! It is not authentic ramen like Japan but definitely fills the void of missing Asian food when traveling. The gyoza (potstickers) were the best part of the meal. They came out hot and krispy with the perfect sauce.

Sherman C: I resisted this place several times but today I was too hungry waiting for Bao Bei and gave it a try. Surprisingly it was not bad. Of course, it’s not the authentic ramen experience like the egg and Cha Siu etc. BUT, it actually tasted good, somewhat like what I would cook at home. The meat are not the ramen cut but they are good quality (I got the Tan Mixto with pork and chicken), and I like it that they threw a lot of cabbage in it like I would do when making instant ramen noodles at home. Service was friendly and fast. The prices are really reasonable. It’s cash only.

Erin Sullivan: We ordered onigiri and Goya’s as appetizers, Miso ramen with eggplant (berenjena) and tonkatsu ramen. both appetizers came out hot and delicious. I would order the goyzas again because of their soy infused with ginger and maybe sweet vinegar. YUM. Miso ramen was delicious! I loved the eggplant addition. Good flavor, hot and with all the traditional ingredients you’d expect in miso ramen. Especially loved the abundance of green onions. My hubs reported the tonkatsu was flavorless. He ate Tonkatsu everyday in Tokyo as a staple. So he is still on the hunt for quality tonkatsu ramen. He spiced it up by asking for salt pepper and used the gyozas sauce to add a ginger zing. It worked enough for him to satisfy his hunger. I would come back for the gyozas and miso. ☺️Great ambiance and customer service too.

PAULO CHAMBERGO: Owner had the courtesy to accept me at 1050pm when the restaurants closes at 11pm and the kitchen was already closed at 1030pm. So I gave him kudos for that and an extra star for it as well jajaja. I tried miso ramen soup and it tasted good , l loved the col or repollo placed there. Gyoza was actually pretty good , tasted delicious and it contained big portions (5 of them) . Price was fair. It was overall an acceptable experience. Will go back.

Agustín: The spicy curry ramen not spicy enough, the broth too watery, the noodles likely instant, but at least the Gyoza was decent. It’ll be hard to find a Japanese ramen place in Medellín that can do better, but sometimes if you get a ramen fix you have to settle with what you can have.

STRUT FILMS: I am a resident of 日本 Japan and have been spoiled with good ramen there. I have concluded that all the positive reviews are from foreigners or Colombians. It is not a one star rating because the appetizers have a lot of good flavor, particularly the gyozas. However the ramen is flavorless and bland, similar to a lot of Colombian food. I asked for salt, pepper, garlic and ginger to try and improve the flavor and nothing. The broth has been watered down for days. There was more cabbage than noodles in my ramen, what is that about? There is no good ramen in Colombia so far that i have found but the search continues. There is good ramen in Peru, San Francisco CA, Vancouver WA and NYC and of course Japan and parts of east Asia.

rotem yaron: Best ramen in Medellin, it’s owned by a Japanese guy and it’s for sure the most coziest ramen shop in Medellin

Bethany Baker: We loved it! Several vegan options spicy and mild. We went many times during our stay in Medellin.

Ichiraku Ramen Medellín: what do users think?

Bani Andrada: Food was horrible. I ordered a ramen and fried dumplings. I couldn’t finish it. It was cold and undercooked. The server asked me why I couldn’t finish the food, and I said, because it doesn’t taste like ramen. And he said it’s because they’re accommodating to what Colombians like/prefer. The reason I wanted to come to this place was because of Naruto, two ⭐️ ⭐️ since the design was good, and a great place to hangout, but the food was not great at all. I was very disappointed. Nice staff! I would not come back here again.

June Marzan: Curry Wok is a VERY oily fried rice with no flavor but just a hint of curry and two pieces of meat. Broth is too salty. And as a response to the other review, you’re right, that’s not how it’s supposed to be. Sushi is average if you never had real sushi before but definitely pretty bad if you know your sushi. Not sure about the ambience cause it’s just ok but I don’t really see the hype. My family said that the dumplings were good. That’s the only thing that saved this from a one star. That and the fact they actually have Asian beers.

Denise Santa Maria: Ramen was ok. So was the sushi. Service was really slow, but then agin they were slammed. They were polite! Unfortunately I saw 2 roaches in the bathroom so it was hard to eat after that. Our food came out after I saw them unfortunately. The place itself didn’t have the best hygine. So unfortunate as it has so much potential.

Gabrielle Martorana: The food was terrible, didn’t even finish it.. the fake crab in the sushi was rock hard, the noodles tasted like cardboard, and the ramen was just not good. The veggie wok had like 5 veggies total, just all those strange noodles. Avoid.

Errol Eats Everything: Many option of Ramen. Cool area and nice decor. Staff was attentive. Ramen was not warm enough. Cherry lemonade was great. Limited beer selection. Many drink specials

J W: The food was not even close to traditional ramen. Felt like the chef cooked based on pictures. The ingredients seem to be there but was not cooked well. The flavors were all off. I would avoid this place if you like ramen from major US cities, or if you are Asian (this is not Asian food).Food: 1/5 | Service: 2/5 | Atmosphere: 2/5 …More

Tamagotchi ramen bar: what do users think?

Andres Barrios: I remember I was walking down the streets when I found this place, at the moment you get in, you feel like you are no longer in Colombia but in a Japanese Anime! The food, the attention, the customer service, everything is just perfect! And I finally got the chance to eat Ramen! 100% recommended.

Laura Morales García: The place has a really nice atmosphere. The staff was nice and friendly. The food was pretty good, and the portions were very generous. Gets really crowded at night so get ready for that.

Riptide99: I wanted to give my girlfriend her first authentic Japanese ramen experience, but sadly, this is not it. The broth tasted very strongly of vinegar, the noodles were generic linguini and spaghetti noodles and the charsu was….not charsu. However the atmosphere is really nice and friendly. Also, they didn’t accept credit cards and wanted to charge me a 25% exchange fee on the US dollars I had.

Erin Sullivan: Ambiance is 10/10. We ordered tamagochi ramen (we asked which was most popular and with the most flavor) the meat, egg, toppings was cool in temperature. Beautifully displayed. Strong Soy/Vinegar base. Not cooked traditionally in pork broth. They add a thick piece of pork on top-this was hot. (Colombian style) -karaage (fried chicken with kewpie sauce) it is warm chicken strips. Not the same as Karaage in Japan. -tenpura veggies (takes 20 min, cooked fresh) this was hot and fresh. Not a lot of flavor in the batter. The dipping sauce is the same vinegar sauce used in the ramen. Huge, good to share with a group of friends. -Ginger lychee beer is refreshing however not much of flavor of ginger or lychee. Food and drink 2/10. A good place to share an appetizer, a beer and take photos.

Kevin Zhou: Great atmosphere and decor. And amazingly nice staff. Unfortunately the ramen is quite bad and not authentic. Their cold lychee soda was nice and edamame not bad.

trent lawrence: Tamagotchi Ramen Bar is one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever visited! As a huge fan of anime, I appreciated the decor and layout of the place, and the music was on POINT! I had the pork ramen, which was AMAZING! When I visit Medellin again, I will definitely come back for another bowl of their delicious ramen! 😄 Note: this is a cash only place.

Nolo Simón: Not the greatest Tankotsu ramen I have had, it was kind of sour and I don’t think that is the way it usually is. Aside from the food, we sat in an area that had an AC but they did not have it on whereas there was another section that was really nice to be in

Ricki: The servers were all so very sweet. Unfortunately the broth was very bitter. Heavy lemon and vinegar. I lived in Japantown in LA, so I am always excited to try “authentic” Japanese in other cities until I can make my way to Japan but this was bad. I actually tried two different broths Tonkotsu and Tamagotchi, and the latter is less bitter. But both very bitter and sour. I felt sick when leaving. The atmosphere and service was great. But the food was hard to stomach for me.

Mayan Around Town: The place looks so nice! Decorated really well that it got me excited to feel like I’m in Asia again. Downside is… the food isn’t so good. It felt like the noodles were homemade and I commend them for the effort but the texture was off. The broth of the ramen wasn’t great either. The worst part was that I ordered a Karaage and it was… raw 😩 They replaced it and the service was good but it scared me after eating a portion of the raw meat.

ERNIE TROCHE: Ordered Tonkotsu Ramen… which has a pork broth, and usually whiteish… i instead received a super salty Miso broth. I asked the server if this was the right order, and she replied yes 🙄 This wasn’t even the worst part. There were 2 types of pork in the ramen: 3 slices of “chashu” that looked and tasted like dried turkey breast. And a huge chuck of “pork belly”, also incredibly dry and too thick and dense to chew. The only thing edible in this Mess is the EGG!! Perfectly soft boiled and delicious. Unfortunately i’ll never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone.

Sushi Gama: what do users think?

Luis Vasquez Elorza: Japanese food is one of my favorites!!! Whit my girl, I have already tried several around the city, in particular looking for the sea ramen, which is the original Japanese people denied to do because of the difficult to find out fresh supplying. Today we tried the version of that one at Gama and for me, it was so good, also we have enjoyed another traditional ramen, a sushi roll, a banana desert with ice cream, everything in a roll. And guess what, all the service for an incredible price, we strongly recommend this place

Diego Bustos: Great food and decoration. Delicious plates. Services is average but food compensates.

Samuel Rizzo: The bowl looked delicious. “May I have it with anything else instead of rice?”. “No”. So I ordered the shrimp Baos instead, which were pretty dull. 1/5 the service, 3/5 food, 2 stars seems right.

Michael Eisenstein: The location is cute, but the fish are not fresh and overall the meal wasn’t good.

Tina Kong: I was utterly disappointed at the ramen. The noodles were soggy and tasted like the cheap instant ramen from supermarket! The broth was also inauthentic. The only I appreciate is the decor of the restaurant which accentuates the Japanese elements. However, the food could have been improved!

Aryan Khalili: Good food and fast delivery. 1 min walk from the guest house. 9$ for the bowl and a beer 🍺

Douraku: what do users think?

Jim McConville: Ramen was good, but I wish this dish had an egg option. I also hoped the classic bowl would have a chicken or steak option. Chopped up chicken was a challenge to eat as it was smaller than what I’m used to. Service was fast and friendly. Would return here.

Mayan Around Town: Really decent ramen in Colombia! Exemplary service ⭐️ the gyoza had such beautiful dough.

Hans Burbano: Best ramen place on Medellin no discussion. The gyozas or edamame are both excellent entrees to share. The ramen has a great broth, noodles, and excellent chasu, not sure, but I am under the impression it has gotten better over the last 2 years that I have been going there. The staff and the owner are always attentive and service is always 10/10.

Laura Fleming: OMG! Best food we have found in Colombia so far! The food actually has flavor and the owner can actually make the soup spicy! For example, I sweated while eating my spicy ramen! I was SO happy! We will visit every day! Such a wonderful and cute place with an amazing owner and staff, all so friendly! ❤ 🤗😋

stiagro: Very good Ramen restaurant, i have been here twice and I can recommend this place. I have been to Japan, and this is among the best places i have had Ramen outside of Japan. The owner is Japanese so the attention to detail is very good.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Tommy: Taste the difference of freshly made noodles make in Medellin’s best ramen joint. The chef is from northern japan and takes pride in using natural ingredients for ramen in the style of his region. Everything is made from scratch so you will notice the difference and be coming back. Not sure which ramen to order: Try the miso ramen for a traditional flavor or the paisa ramen for a version made with local tastes in mind. I also love the mushroom ramen. Try them all!

Ninja Ramen: what do users think?

Jeff R: Decided to give this place a try, I was looking for a new ramen place. I ordered on Rappi. Very surprised and happy as ingredients came in separate packages. The pork was very flavorful. The noodles had good consistency and all the ingredients were excellent. The Rappi time was as scheduled. I will definitely order from there again.

ciaran walsh: Great food, amazing customer service and good value 💯

santiago arias: Great service

Jorge Andres Pena Cabrales: The seasonal dish they brought out for Ramen week is spectacularly delicious. Excellent service and it did not take long even when they warned that it would take time. Definitely to return. Recommended.

Santiago Panaco: SIMPLE AND INTENSE! It was an experience full of new flavors. The menu is not very extensive, but its options are very well done; the taste of pork belly ramen is exquisite. highly recommended

Pablo Vargas: I loved it. Very good attention and a Ramen of good flavor and portion. One of the best options in the area to eat like this. The site is nice too. Very comfortable prices and a fair menu without many options, which makes it ideal. It can be difficult to park by car depending on the day and time.

alejandra soto alzate: It is a wonderful place, a hidden ramen paradise, the attention is wonderful and I have had the opportunity to try several dishes and they have all sweated great, the entrees are superlative

Japoneria: what do users think?

Luciani Zorrilla: The place is beautifully decorated, and the staff is really nice. Now, the entree was delicious, and the dessert was too. But the ramen was disappointing. At those prices, it should have been exceptional, but it was below average, it didn’t have any flavor.

Mark Spitalnik: A nice lunch at a reasonable Japanese restaurant and sushi bar. My wife had sushi and I had the shrimp tempura plate. She enjoyed hers very much and I enjoyed mine too. It consisted of large shrimp and eggplant, onions, and sweet potatoes, all in a light batter and fried and all served over a bed of rice. It was an enjoyable meal. I recommend this restaurant.

Michael Piekarski: The staff was super friendly and the food was good, but not great, and ultimately a bit over-priced for the area (6USD for a small portion of edamame). The Beef Don was the best. I don’t really recommend the Ramen.

Vu Dang: Authentic high quality bowl of ramen here. Forget the other ramen places in El Poblado like Ichiraku, Cuon (tastes strange and is not Japanese ramen). JAPONERIA and Bao Bei are the real deals in El Poblado. + I like how they gave me samplers to try if their sushi was fresh at the start. + Great decor - sleek, modern, minimalistic, reminds me the style in Japan. + Love how the washrooms have listerine and qtips for self hygiene care. Highly recommend this place. Wanted to try their Curry Chicken Udon too but they didnt have it. Shoutout to chefs Ricardo and Diego. You can follow my travel tips on YouTube @ iVuDang

Juan Rojas: The most amazing sushi in medellin, great quality fish and the service is A+ make sure to tell Alonzo I say hello! He will take good care of you

Nate Kapitanski: A hidden gem in Medellin. I don’t feel compelled to write a lot of reviews, but I wanted to write one for this place because everything was really great. The best Japanese food I’ve had in Colombia, for sure. Have gone by this location so many times and didn’t know what it was until a friend brought me here. Good attention to detail. Really can’t believe this exists in Medellin but it does so I definitely will be supporting them and going back a lot.

Angelo Atienza: Exquisite! Best Japanese food in all of Medellin and staffed with very attentive servers in a Zen-like atmosphere. The food is high quality and extremely well-presented with tons of flavorRecommended dishes Ramen …More

Juan Jose Hincapie: Awesome place, we discover it walking by. Sushi is very nice, we love the jiggly cake for dessert. End up with some sake shots

Juan Vasquez: Overpriced and subpar. I had high hopes for this place but was very disappointed, went on a Friday night and the place was empty, that should have been my first sign. Even being empty, took like 15 minutes to bring out the cocktails, one of which was completely undrinkable, tried to send it back and the waiter tried to convince us that is the way the cocktail is supposed to taste, after getting visually upset they took it back but continued to insist that nothing was wrong with the drink. The food was alright, the ramen was good, tried the Okonomiyaki and it was barely edible. Anytime you leave a high end restaurant and have empanadas, it is not worth it.

Kabuki: what do users think?

Ben Leibig: Cold Ramen and they forgot one of our main dishes. This is now combined with an Italian/Argentinian restaurant and the food and service are poor. Prices are pretty high. You can do better.

Christopher C: Nice terrasse in busy street Ceviche was disappointing..not that tasty and lazy presentation .. Pollo saltado was much better , with a tasty sauce Wine by the glass was bad Waiter was charming and spoke great English .. A so so experience

Erick Quezada: So far the best restaurant to feast in Medellín. Prices are fair. Excellent service. If you ever come to Medellín this is a must.

Martin Burgess: Good sushi. Service initially was ordinary but improved throughout the night. Vegetarian options: Vege sushi was good. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome.

Yoon J: Quiet restaurant. Thought it was a Japanese Peruvian fusion but rather different types of dishes.

Alain Leneveu: Nice food and good service

Laurent Bilodeau: Very good sushis, ramen and Peruvian dishes! The staff is very kind and open to suggestions. The only constructive comment would be to add a combo dish for those who would like to discover Peru and Japan.

Sal B: Great food, the whole staff is nice and there is people who also speak english. The downside is that the food at least for me was way to expensive in common colombian prices for food but it is still a good place to eat.

Xander U: A good place to feel the Maid Café expirience.

Mayker David Arriaga Granda: The place is great, however, you must pay additional for being served by a maid, which is 10% of the total amount you spend in the restaurant. Finally, the ramen sucks, definitely avoid it, but the rest of the food is amazing. The cheapest price is 10.000 pesos, the most expensive plate is 25.000 pesos. The drinks are stupidly expensive, each costs you 12.500 pesos.

Danilo Díaz Tarascó: Really cool place to have a different experience. The food is not perfect but is cheap

Dan Linklater: Great Japanese cuisine,

yhoan daleycer Ramirez: Excellent service and place awesome

Adrien Constant: Good food and nice atmosphere

siawjern huang: Came here with high hope and found that it’s really disappointing. The attention was okay, even though we’re the only customers in the restaurant, we still had to find or call to see where the waitress was. 😅 The table was not clean, the music was too loud to be a Japanese restaurant even though it’s just a street food. I only tried Takoyaki, and it’s really not worth $22. The presentation was good, but the pieces of octopus were too small, and the rest of the ball were just flour, cabbage and other ingredients were no where to be found. The sauce was okay though.

Alejandra M. G.: Super friendly staff and very tasty menu, is not expensive and the place is super cute

Jul Flurbe: Takoyaki was the best one.

John Pirrozi: Real Osaka flavor. Great Deal and a nice option in Medellin. Highly recommended.

Nataly Cortes: It is a small but very cozy place, the food is very tasty, it is worth trying such different textures and flavors, the movement generated by the fish scales is very curious, a dish with a lot of flavor, the service is fast so you do not have to wait long by your order, if you want to have a unique experience in Japanese fast food, this is the place!!! I loved

isabella sanchez cañas: Excellent place very comfortable and with very good attention, delicious food, we liked everything and it is with authentic Japanese flavor
